Ok. So at the end of Brightest Day, John Constantine rejoined the DCU. Everyone is aware of this, right? Ok, good.

DC released on the Source blog the final covers to Brightest Day Aftermath: The Search For Swamp Thing #1, which features John Constantine right there on the cover lighting up a cigarette. There’s also a variant cover by JG Jones, featuring… John Constantine lighting up a cigarette. I should also probably note that in the page he showed up, he lit up a cigarette and then smoked it. I guess the thing we’re learning here is that John Constantine loves to smoke.

As an additional tid bit, the file name for the cover, as provided by DC, is “hellblazercover_b”, as opposed to the variant which is called “bdayast_cv1_var_r1.” Huh. Hope nothing happens to the Hellblazer title because of this.

The cover also features Zatanna, confirming the rumors that they are maybe something of an item. In a way. Maybe? Do I smell a love triangle?

Also, I’m not the only one who notices that they mixed and matched Batman costumes, right?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
