Image’s “Chew,” from John Layman and Rob Guillory, is consistently one of the best books on the market. It’s an incredible series, often hilarious, often shocking, but always good. We enjoy the hell out of it around these parts, and we were excited to see it come to life in a TV series Showtime had optioned from Circle of Confusion, the people who developed “The Walking Dead.”

Sadly, even though there had been recent, really positive news about it, John Layman just shared on Twitter that…well, he shared:

That’s sad news, but hopefully it gets picked up elsewhere. I’m not too clever about the machinations of the TV world, but I hope it’s a property we eventually see come to life. That said, the comic still rules – make sure to get caught up if you haven’t because, as I said, it’s one of the best books on the market.
