There’s been a lot of hubbub that Green Lantern John Stewart was on his way out, and his pending death was the reason why Josh Fialkov was leaving Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns. The rumor quickly grabbed on the Internet, as that combined with many of the other classy decisions over at the Distinguished Competition made it seem like this type of thing was pretty possible – if only to promote sales of a book.
But hold your phone, fans. Incoming GLC co-writer Van Jensen indicated on Twitter that this is not the case, after all. In fact, he and co-writer Robert Venditti have “big plans” for the character.
A very interesting turn in the story, and seems likely to be true given the highly rumor centered nature of this story. That said, if John Stewart was killed in a few months? I wouldn’t be surprised in the least.
