Not quite, but certainly close enough.

The above image is the brand new 2011 card designed by Ivan Reis and Oclair Albert for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, one of the most important organizations in comics at the moment. The CBLDF seeks to protect our first ammendment rights and provides free legal services for any comic creator who might come under fire for whatever reason because of a comic they put out. It only costs a donation of $25 to become a member and get the card, and if you happen to have some extra cash there are more incentives as the price point gets higher (including a Jeff Smith sketch for $1,000, along with some additional goodies).

If you’d like to be a Guardian of Free Speech, simply click this link and put your $25 bucks down. There are added benefits that come with being a card carrying member as well, including free access to any events hosted by the CBLDF. Plus, if you have one, everyone will definitely know you’re cool because you care. It’s a win/win all around!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
