Jonathan Ross To Appear In Knight And Squire!

I think that for anyone, regardless of where you live, to not know who Jonathan Ross is is really unfortunate. The celebrated comedian and host of a variety of shows is one of Britain’s best, and he’s right up there at the top of comic book fans. According to Mark Millar in the backmatter of Turf #1 (which, by the way, Ross wrote and you should be reading!), the man has THREE copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 – one for reading, one to keep as a display, and one in a vault that no one is allowed to see or touch. That’s all kinds of awesome.

So it looks like now, along with finally writing his first comic (did I mention Turf and how you should be reading it?), he will also be appearing in his first comic – DC’s Knight And Squire, which has celebrated all corners of British pop culture since it first came out. Written by Paul Cornell (another equally awesome Brit), the issue will feature Wossy on TV (and maybe more?) commenting on Britain’s premiere DC duo.

As Cornell noted on DC’s the Source Blog, “It’s an absolute pleasure to feature Britain’s most famous comic fan, collector and now professional in an issue of Knight and Squire, and thanks very much to Jonathan for being such a sport in allowing it to happen. I’m only sorry we haven’t given him powers and a costume.” Jimmy Broxton, the series’ artist, also adds, “Capturing Mr. Ross’s boyish good looks and natural charm was an artistic challenge, getting his suit right, an artistic triumph!”

Needless to say – there was never any reason NOT to be buying Knight And Squire, and now that goes double for any anglophiles out there on the internet.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
