Well, we had Dead. We had Body. We had those words written over a blood-stained road. We should’ve figured it out.

Announced over at USA Today, Image/Skybound’s latest release is “Dead Body Road,” a crime Western noir coming this November from Justin Jordan and Matteo Scalera and slated for six issues. The series finds an ex-cop named Gage on a mission of vengeance, trying to find the men who killed his wife during a bank robbery and killing every last one of them.

The series makes sense given Jordan’s penchant for Justified and how often he tweets about how brilliant it is. Scalera seems pretty perfect for the book as well, because from the brief teaser alone you get all the appropriate vibes for “Crime,” “Western” and “Noir” that the book should be exuding. I can see the FX TV adaptation already!

Look for the book in November. I expect good things from this one.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
