According to The Hollwood Reporter, Josh Pence has officially been cast as a young Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises – a casting that has been rumored for a while. Pence’s biggest claim to fame so far has been as the body of Tyler Winklevoss in David Fincher’s The Social Network, with Arnie Hammer’s face digitally imposed upon his.

Supposedly, Pence’s scenes as the Demon’s Head will take place some thirty years before the main events of the film, though with the character’s lengthy comic book history of rejuvenation and regeneration, one might be inclined to speculate whether or not he’ll be encountering the detective once again. Sure, the Lazarus Pits are a bit fantastical for Nolan’s take on America’s favorite superhero, but there are ways it could be reinterpreted. This casting also lends credence to the rumors regarding Talia al Ghul’s involvement in the upcoming film.
