Can anything go right for this musical? Anything at all?

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Julie Taymor is leaving and will be replaced by William McKinley (source)

According to multiple reports all over the interwebs, it looks like Taymor may be done working with the musical in anything but her name. After several injuries and being shut down several times, the musical is now being shut down until June and it seems like Taymor is done with it. If the musical does indeed shut down, it’ll be a loss of $1.3 million per week. Taymor will likely be replaced with former Rocky Horror director Christopher Ashley, with comic writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (most recently notable from the Loki mini) is being brought on for $20,000 to do a rewrite of the script. It looks like at this rate the show will be pushed back until June, with several new cast members and perhaps a new plot.

Yeesh. At what point do we just give up here?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
