So, here’s some sad news for fellow Valiant fans out there: Justin Jordan is leaving the title. As tweeted,

It’s good to know that it was an amicable split and that Jordan’s tenure with Valiant isn’t over, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t note that his run has been one of our favorites of the new Valiant-verse. It’s definitely a book that has been hitting its stride and has made one of the best translations from pre-Valiant to current Valiant.

Jordan is and has been a star on the rise, so it’s perhaps safe to assume that between this, two Image comics, some Avatar work and comics at DC, he may just have had to make a call on his workload. “Shadowman” will have had a great ten-issue run from him (eleven with #0) and for us it has definitely been a Valiant highlight.

We’re looking forward to whoever takes it over next. Jim Zub will be writing the book’s 11th Halloween special issue, and the new writer will come in for #12.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
