Announced in a press call this morning, yesterday’s Image teasers have turned out to be a new creator-owned book from Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta via Image and Skybound called “Outcast.”

Kirkman’s new journey into the world of Horror, the book is a variation of the demonic possession-style stories we’ve seen in The Exorcist. Starring a man named Kyle Barnes, Barnes has been plagued by demonic possession for his whole life and, at the start of the book, decides to investigate why that is and figure out what it is that is making him so possession-worthy. It’ll be a “big, epic story,” although ostensibly dissimilar to “The Walking Dead” in terms of focus.

“It’s going to be a big story – very epic – and we’re going to meet a lot of characters along the way and probably lose a few of them. There probably won’t be as much of a blood bath as ‘Walking Dead’…but when you’re doing an independent comic and can do whatever you want, it’s fun to keep people guessing.”

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
