DC Comics have announced “Knight Terrors,” a summer event series written by Joshua Williamson, featuring art by Howard Porter (“The Flash”), Guillem March (“The Joker”), and more. The story will see Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman calling on the help of Deadman after they find the body of one of their oldest enemies in the Hall of Justice. “Their investigation takes them past the land of the living, beyond the land of the dead, into a realm of nightmares,” where “whatever happens to them in the Nightmare Realm will also be reflected in the Waking World.”
“I love horror comics,” Williamson says, “and it’s been a blast bringing the energy to ‘Dawn of DC.’ ‘Knight Terrors’ showcases the horror side of our heroes as a brand-new villain confronts them with their worst nightmares. It’s a fun and horrific event that brings together all of the heroes and villains of DC, along with some surprises!” Like Williamson says, the event will consist of various two-issue series, where a superhero, or villain, is forced to confront their own worst nightmare. The creative teams for these will be announced at a later date.
The main ‘Knight Terrors’ series and its tie-ins will begin in July. They will all be preceded by a Free Comic Book Day issue on May 6, “Dawn of DC Knight Terrors Free Comic Book Day Special Edition,” which will revolve around Damian Wayne’s nightmares. Chris Bachalo (“The Sandman,” “Death”) will pencil the story, in what will mark his first DC project in over 20 years.
DC also announced they will be publish three manga series in English for the first time. The comics, which were produced in conjunction with Kodansha, are:

– “Superman vs. Meshi,” written by Satoshi Miyagawa with art by Kai Kitago, in which the Man of Steel embarks on a food tour of Japan.
– “Batman: Justice Buster,” by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, which reimagines the Boy Wonder as ROBIN, an AI Batman creates to help him stem the escalation of crime during his early years.
– “Joker: One Operation Joker,” by Satoshi Miyagawa and Keisuke Gotou, where the Clown Prince of Crime adopts the Dark Knight after he is turned into a baby – and perhaps even more surprisingly, tries to ensure Bruce Wayne still grows up to become a hero.
All of the series will debut on DC Universe Infinite, before being released in trade paperback later this year. Until then, head to DC.com to check out more images from all of DC’s announcements at the ComicsPRO convention.
