Dark Horse Comics will be releasing an anthology collection of stories to mark the tenth anniversary of The Legend of Korra TV show next year, featuring stories from writers Kiku Hughes, Delilah S. Dawson, Rachel Silverstein, and series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino, as well as artists Heather Campbell, Jayd Aït-Kaci, Sam Beck, KaiJu, Alexandria Monik, Victoria Ying, and colorist Killian Ng. Like “Avatar: The Last Airbender — Team Avatar Tales,” this is a mix of new stories and a few previous Free Comic Book Days stories (namely 2016’s ‘Friends for Life,’ 2018’s ‘Lost Pets,’ and 2021’s ‘Clearing The Air’). It’s an eighty-page comic though, so most of it is going to be new material. “The Legend of Korra: Patterns in Time” will be out April 12th, 2022. For the full announcement, head over to The Beat.
And there are more stories on the way too, with next year’s Silver offering from Dark Horse Comics for Free Comic Book Day featuring both a “Legend of Korra” story and an “Avatar: The Last Airbender” story from cartoonist Meredith McClaren and Kicking Shoes (the art team of Kelly & Nichole Matthews.)
The comics were among several titles announced by Dark Horse in the run-up to Christmas, including “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Myths” (written by Alexander Freed, with art by Martín Túnica) and “Stranger Things: Kamchatka” (penned by Michael Moreci, with pencils by Todor Hristov.) With Dark Horse having announced a deal to be acquired by Swedish video game company Embracer Group last week, they likely won’t be the last licensed books from the publisher either.
