Kris Anka isn’t just a fan favorite artist, but someone who is pretty damn beloved for his tasteful character redesigns. With a finger on the pulse of those who constantly wonder why heroic women characters have to dress so skimpy, Anka uses his design sense to create appropriate yet very appealing character designs that satisfy fans of all varieties.

And now, Brian Michael Bendis has revealed the cover to “Uncanny X-Men” #24 – unfinished, of course – and it features Anka’s redesign of Dazzler. Feast your eyes below:

Combining punk rock sensibilities with some visual cues from yesteryear, Anka’s Dazzler quite literally tears down her own past and carries it with her in the new look. Frankly, she looks more badass than ever in my opinion. I imagine some may hem and haw about changing the character’s look, but you guys, this was a character that was literally designed for disco. If anyone is in need of an update, it’s Alison Blaire. Well done by Anka, and we’re looking forward to what he gets to redesign next.
