While we may be losing one of our favorites with Green Wake, that doesn’t mean we’ve heard the last of prolific independent creator Kurtis Wiebe. Far from it! In the near future alone, we’ve got the upcoming Peter Panzerfaust and a project known as Debris. However, back at NYCC, Wiebe told us about a book called The Grim Leaper which we haven’t heard of in quite some time — that is, until today.

Launching a Facebook page over the weekend, Grim Leaper was described to us as Final Destination meets Quantum Leap, and is about a “guy who has a curse, and he dies in really gruesome, horrific and hopefully original ways and he wakes up in the body of another person, and he seems to be in this curse where he can’t seem to figure out why it’s happening. And one day he meets a girl who has the exact same curse, and so they’re dating while this is going on.”

Noting it as a rather black comedy, the book sees Wiebe teaming up with a new artist named Aluisio Santos, and just a brief look at the preview pages alone should have you rather excited for the book. While it originally had a “hopeful release date” of March, keep your eyes peeled for those upcoming May solicits.

We want to make sure you check out the Facebook page, so we won’t post the entire preview here. For a three page preview and the cover of the book, be sure to look behind the cut. For the rest, however, be sure to check out the official Grim Reaper Facebook page and give it a “like.”

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
