Lucasfilm Publishing announced the slate of tie-in content for the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story today, including a miniseries centering on Lando called “Lando: Double or Nothing.” The new mini will be written by Rodney Barnes, a veteran TV writer and producer whose credits include The Boondocks, Everybody Hates Chris, and most recently Hulu’s Runaways. Lucasfilm Publishing creative director Michael Siglain says the book is “set during an incident right before the film, with backstory about Lando and L3.” (L3-37 is the token droid of the film.)
The rest of the creative team has not been announced at this time, but the series will debut the Wednesday after Solo: A Star Wars Story is released in theaters: May 30, 2018. Siglain emphasized, “Coming out of the film, we think everyone is going to want to read more about Lando.”
“Star Wars: Adventures” will also see some tie-in with the film. Cavan Scott will write a three-part story about Han and Chewie as they’re targeted by Zuckuss and 4-LOM, bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back. The story starts in the FCBD 2018 issue, and continues in #10-11.
