Dark Horse Comics today announced “Last Stop on the Red Line,” a series described as a “psycho-thriller horror mystery” from the mind of writer Paul Maybury (“Aqua Leung,” “Marvel’s Strange Tales,” “Catalyst Comix”) and artist Sam Lotfi (“Ash vs. The Army Of Darkness,” DC’s “New Talent Showcase,” “TMNT”), with colorist John Rauch (“Fear Agent,” “Thor”) and letterer Adam Pruett (“Moebius Library,” “Bloodshot Reborn”).

In “Last Stop on the Red Line,” Maybury, a Boston native, revisits his old stomping grounds and explores the idea of supernatural creatures inhabiting Boston’s underground. The series follows detective Migdalia Torres as she investigates a brutal strangling on a Boston subway car. With no leads and all potential evidence turning up dead ends, Torres is forced to turn to a vagrant named Yusef who might have a supernatural connection to the unsolved crime.

According to Maybury, ”Subterranean shivery beneath the cold streets of Boston awaits. As a native son, I’ve yearned to tell a story of the other side of the city, seldom portrayed. Real people contending with dissonant visions that convey a reality worse than their darkest nightmares.”

The first issue of the four-issue series is scheduled to debut on May 8th. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop.
