Just a week and a half after Man of Steel soared to break box office records for the month of June, the team behind the film is breaking up the band going forward.

Legendary Pictures, one of the production companies that fronted money for Man of Steel, the Christopher Nolan-Batman trilogy, and other Warner Brothers pictures, has cut ties with Warners and is seeking a new co-financing partner.
According to Variety, a main reason for the split was that Warners seeks more control (and, therefore, profit) from their superhero movies using DC Entertainment characters. The comparison was made to the Harry Potter films, which were produced solely by Warner Brothers, and therefore, had no other companies to share profits with.
We are not fluent in legalese nor movie industry jargon, so we cannot say 100% if Legendary will still be associated with any sequels to Man of Steel, but it appears doubtful.
According to Comics Alliance, Legendary’s deal with Warners allowed them to choose which WB movies they wanted to participate in – for instance, they co-financed Superman Returns, but not Green Lantern.
We will continue to update you on the situation, should any announcements that would affect DC films come forward.
