While Multiversity’s writing staff has a hard time agreeing on things occasionally (see: Secret Warriors #21 Battle Review) but there is one thing we all agree on: Jeff Lemire is the man. His work, whether you’re talking about his Vertigo series Sweet Tooth, his Strange Tales efforts, or any of his other works are universally praised by our writing staff.

Now, he’s gotten even headier praise, as the CBC’s Canada Reads program announced their Top 40 Essential Canadian Novels of the Decade list today and Lemire’s work for Top Shelf – Essex County – made the list. This phenomenal tale of life in rural Canada is a touching ode, and one that should be essential reading for all comics fans.

Now that he’s made the list, it’s up to you, Multiversity readers, to help Jeff make the Top 10. Get your vote on here, and let’s make sure this wonderful book earns a spot in the top 10 like it deserves.
