Like a Glorious Phoenix Rising from the Ashes, Let’s Be Friends Again has Returned

One of my favorite webcomics, Let’s Be Friends Again has long been one of the few webcomics I visit that are comic related in order to get a good chuckle, understanding the proper way to lampoon the medium while being thoughtful — an incredibly difficult line to walk. (We tried.) Others often attempt to do it but never quite hit the mark; at least not for me. But LFBA? They get it.

And after LBFA creators Curt Franklin and Chris Haley merged with Eugene “Adam WarRock” Ahn in 2011 to form LBFA, Inc, much rejoicing was had.

But then LBFA went on indefinite hiatus. And much anti-rejoicing was had.

Now, after several comic updates over the last couple weeks (the first of which featured above), LBFA is back — but with some changes. Primarily, former writer Curt Franklin has stepped down and Euge has stepped up to take over as the strip’s writer. As Euge writes, Curt has become tied up with other projects that have taken him away from being able to focus on LBFA, so Euge will be the writer with Chris from here on out.

As such, the strip will apparently shift focus a little bit, delving more into the characters of Euge and Chris (who mirror the real life iterations of Euge and Chris) so that you care more about them, while also expanding the focus of the strip to not just comics but pop culture in general. Which is great, because it means more to talk about and more strips to be had.

To me, this is likely the best news of the day. I like LBFA. I like Euge’s raps and writing. I like Chris’ art. I am excited. You should be too. Let’s Be Friends Again! Dot Com! Mondays, Wendesdays and Fridays!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
