According to The Hollywood Reporter, indie comics publisher Lion Forge will roll out another imprint, Quillion, which will mix comics and tabletop gaming. It is due to launch in September with a book called “Rolled & Told.”

Quillion’s “Rolled and Told” will be a unique experience for readers by combining the fun of tabletop gaming with comics. The Hollywood Reporter says the book will have a “monthly comic book format release that includes a ready-to-play adventure alongside articles, illustrations and comics that coincide with that month’s adventure.”

Associate editor, Christina “Steenz” Stewart, who’s heading up the new project, says “with anywhere between seven and twenty different comics creators on each issue, ‘Rolled & Told’ will be more than a periodical, but also a natural gateway between gaming and comics,” and “I’m excited that my editorial debut is a publication that offers a platform for writers and illustrators who deserve more visibility in both the gaming and comics communities.”

While fans will have to wait until September for the series to properly begin, comic and tabletop fans alike can get excited when Quillion will release a special free #0 issue of “Rolled & Told” at San Diego Comic-Con that features “‘Thunderlock Barcrawl,’ an adventure that’s part sporting event and part proving ground.” You can check out some of the artwork fans can expect to find in these new hybrid books down below:
