Clint Barton and Kate Bishop’s faithful companion has received his own comic just as he makes his Disney+ debut. “Lucky the Pizza Dog” #1, a one-shot exclusively available on the digital comics subscription service Marvel Unlimited, is live on the app as of today. The book, presented in Marvel’s ‘Infinity Comics’ format, is written by Jason Loo, who also provides art and colors. Caitlin O’Connell edits.

“In ‘Lucky Delivers,’ Kate Bishop waits for her pizza to arrive,” reads the official synopsis. “And waits. And waits… What’s a Hawkeye’s best friend to do but some investigating of his own? You can count on Pizza Dog to save the day… and dinner!”

Loo is perhaps best known for comiXology’s Eisner Award-winning “Afterlift,” which he co-created with writer Chip Zdarsky. His previous Marvel work includes last August’s “Marvel Voices: Identity” and September’s “Fantastic Four” #35 (the 60th anniversary issue).

This book drops on the same day as the first two episodes of Disney+’s Hawkeye miniseries, starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as Clint and Kate. The series features Lucky’s live-action debut, portrayed by a golden retriever named Jolt. Lucky first appeared in Matt Fraction and David Aja’s acclaimed 2012 “Hawkeye” series; he went on to star in issue #11 of the run, the acclaimed ‘Pizza Is My Business,’ which would later win both the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Single Issue in 2014.

Marvel Unlimited is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, as well as through the publisher’s website.
