Jessica Jones season two isn’t released on Netflix until this Thursday (March 8, aka International Women’s Day), but Marvel have already released a thirty-second teaser trailer for the sophomore season of Luke Cage:

The trailer, which has Luke Cage uncharacteristically addressing the viewer and reminding them what his powers are, reveals the second season will be released on June 22. With a bystander reminding Luke Cage to “get paid, black man, get paid,” perhaps we’re finally seeing Luke become a Hero for Hire and advertising himself?

Luke Cage season two will pick up from The Defenders, following Mike Colter’s Luke Cage after he had his name cleared and was released from prison. While he’s hoping for a reckoning with Black Mariah (Alfre Woodard), who had him sent back to jail at the end of the first season (way back in September 2016), Luke will also have to contend with a new enemy, namely Mustafa Shakir as John McIver (known as Bushmaster in the comics).

The second season will also introduce Gabrielle Dennis as Tilda Johnson (aka Nightshade), and the late Reg E. Cathey as Luke’s father James Lucas. It will also see Finn Jones guest star as Danny Rand the Immortal Iron Fist (whose own series returns next year), as well as Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Erik LaRay Harvey’s return as Luke’s evil half-brother Willis Stryker/Diamondback, is still unconfirmed.
