Some of you might remember that before Azzarello and Bermejo teamed up for Joker, they had a miniseries called Luthor about – you guessed it – the star of Action Comics. It gave a short look into the mind of Lex Luthor and the lengths he will go to take down Superman, as well as making Superman sufficiently creepy (and somewhat scary, to be honest). DC announced a while ago that they’d be rereleasing the book in hardcover so it can sit cleanly next to your copy of Joker, but they have just recently announced that it will expand the original story a bit as well.
As seen in the picture with this post, the story will be elaborated upon for a few extra pages throughout the entire hardcover summing up to “half an issues worth” (so 11ish). As seen at DCU’s The Source, “In the original version, the fight between Superman and Batman was cut off towards the end. These new pages continue the last page of the fight and allow readers to really find out what Superman was after.”
The page looks good, and the original story was fantastic (better than Joker, in my opinion). I highly recommend picking it up for those of you who don’t already have it. When you do, you can e-mail me and tell me about all the new stuff! I’d appreciate that.
