Mark Grayson Talks Comics

After a galactic trek through space, World’s Greatest Superhero Invincible (aka Mark Grayson) returned home to check with his local comic shop to pick up all the issues of Science Dog he’d missed in between now and then. To his confusion, however, he’d found that most of the comics that he didn’t read had been renumbered, relaunched, cancelled, split and divided, or generally changed in order to attempt to adapt to the ever changing market of comic books. This leads Mark to say what is everyone’s mind.

Good thing stuff like this only happens in comics, right?

Really, what I honestly love about the panel is everything in the background. The “Gronchless” t-shirt is priceless, the Omnibus on the top shelf is something I’d love to buy, and Dead Stuff #1 seems like an interesting comic to read, doesn’t it?

This issue was probably written quite a few months ago (I pre-ordered it originally in November of 2010) and obviously it’s a playful jab as Kirkman has a lot of friends outside of Image, but you’ve gotta admit that the timing is remarkably perfect

Either way, this is your daily reminder to read creator owned books.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
