You know who loves to say things that aren’t entirely true? Everybody’s favorite insane writer, Mark Millar! With the “obvious clamor” for his new magazine CLiNT dying down, Mark Millar has taken it upon himself to announce via his Twitter that the sequel to Kick-Ass will be in stores this August. He also offers a brief description of the title:

Writing more Kick-Ass 2 this morning and big preview in the Wizard I’m editing. Dave and friends form a team. Naturally, it all goes wrong.

Naturally. Not only that, but Millar also confirms that the book will be in his magazine CLiNT as well as out on Icon.

Now, the funny part is we’ve actually seen Marvel’s full August 2010 solicitations, which includes what’s coming out on Icon (i.e. Casanova, Powers, Scarlet, and Nemesis). You know what’s not on it? Kick-Ass 2! But you know what is? A new Kick-Ass trade paperback, whose solicit reads:

KICK-ASS is back, in time to celebrate the DVD release of the movie and the launch of KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL! KICK-ASS is the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling graphic novel…

So Millar might not TOTALLY be spouting off smoke. You can never tell with him. But, if it does come out, you can be sure that we here at MC will cover it’s insanity. Just like we will War Heroes.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
