Marvel and “Attack on Titan” Crossover Will Be Big in Japan, Hopefully America

Twitter is a hell of a resource, as interesting news and ideas drop on there quite often (sometimes, not so much). But this morning when Marvel’s C.B. Cebulski started tweeting about a dream crossover, fans were going wild at the idea. Here’s what he had to say:

“Attack on Titan” is both a manga series in Japan from Hajime Isayama and an anime series that is rather popular in both Japan and America (thanks to Adult Swim’s Toonami block), selling the types of copies and generating viewership that Marvel can only fantasize about (except with its movies), so that type of idea is, in my opinion, hot shit.

However, it also felt like a joke, and a pie in the sky one at that. But you know what they say about jokes and having shreds of truth in them. Turns out this one had a lot of truth, actually.

So we don’t really know what’s coming, precisely, but we know in just a couple weeks in Japan, Marvel (at least Spider-Man) will be meeting up with the world of “Attack on Titan”, and god only knows what will happen. I do know that lots and lots of American readers will want a taste, and one has to imagine a translation or release will be coming to America as well. But we’ll see. This story is developing, so we’ll share what we get when we get it. Very cool stuff regardless, and please Marvel, let us buy this.
