Marvel Comics have announced a host of new titles for release in April, including a trio related to the upcoming Black Widow film: “Black Widow: Widow’s Sting,” “Taskmaster,” and “Widowmakers: Red Guardian and Yelena Belova.”

“Black Widow: Widow’s Sting” #1 will be written by Ralph Macchio and illustrated by Simone Buonfantino, and tell a story set during Black Widow’s days in “dangerous, deep–cover.” The one-shot will see Maggia boss, Silvermane, making his move in the criminal underworld, and Black Widow sent in to investigate after the first S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to do so disappeared.

“Taskmaster” #1 will see the creative team of writer Jed Mackay and artist Alessandro Vitti unite to tell the story of the world’s greatest spies tracking down Taskmaster after he tricks them, and the rest of the world, into thinking he has murdered Maria Hill. The spies won’t stop until Taskmaster is “dead or clears his own name.”

“Widowmakers: Red Guardian and Yelena Belova” #1 will see writer Devin Grayson, the co-creator of Yelena Belova, team with artist Michele Bandini. After years of trying to figure out her place in the world and the Black Widow mantle not fated for her, Yelena Belova’s past catches up with her. Likewise, the past of Alexi Shostakov A.K.A. Red Guardian will catch up with him and, with a “new day is dawning… no one will stand in his way.”
All three titles will be released in April. You can check out the full list of announced titles from this month’s Marvel’s Pull List podcast here.
