Marvel Declares “War” in October [Updated]

Marvel released two new teasers today, titled “This is War” with very little else associated with them. The word on the street though is these are teasers for the long awaited “Ultron War” from Brian Michael Bendis and Bryan Hitch, in a story that will pit the Avengers against Hank Pym’s greatest/worst invention.

Very little is known about this besides the date – October 2012 – which implies that The Avengers are set to have a pretty terrible year even by their standards (besides at the box office) with their fight against the Phoenix Force Five and this whole deal. What else can we take away from this? Well, if it’s really the Ultron War and it’s really post AvX, then that means a) no reboot is coming and b) Bendis has a little more Avengers left in him, unless this is a very short story.

Look for more as we get it, as we build up to the full announcement at SDCC.
