Marvel Flat-Out Announces Fantastic Four #600 Finally

After some teases, Marvel is finally owning up: Fantastic Four #600 is actually happening. A lot of people were sad when Fantastic Four “ended” and was replaced by FF, assuming that now we wouldn’t get #600, but it looks like the plans are there – and Johnny Storm will assumedly be back. The book is aslo described as “quadruple-sized”, which could mean anything from it having multiple stories (there are, after all, multiple artists), one massive explosive story, or even reprints like most of the #600 Marvel books have.

With the new teaser, we get a look at the reformed Fantastic Four with Spider-Man by John Romita Jr, and the implications of this are up in the air. If we are to assume that Johnny is back, then Spidey doesn’t need to be on the team – but if the rumors are true and the Future Foundation will stick around, it’s possible Spidey – and even Doctor Doom – still have roles to play in the future of the organization. Our guess is that F4 will follow the continued adventures of Marvel’s First Family, while FF will follow the adventures of the kids. But that is, of course, assuming that there really will be two books.

We’ll let you know more as we  find it out closer to November, or when solicits are released.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
