Marvel Comics have announced “Gamma Flight,” a new series spinning out of “Immortal Hulk,” from writers Al Ewing and Crystal Frasier, and artist Lan Medina. Frasier served as a consultant on “Immortal Hulk” last year, and will be making her Marvel debut in “Marvel’s Voices: Pride” #1.
The series will see the team of Puck, Absorbing Man, Titania, Doc Sasquatch, Dr. Charlene McGowan, and Rick Jones on the run, having become humanity’s biggest targets after choosing to side with the Hulk, instead of stopping him.
In the press release, Ewing stated the series will “explore some of the concepts and plant some of the seeds from ‘Immortal Hulk’ in their own space,” with the team going up “against some strange and ugly doings in the unexplored corners of the gamma world.” He said he and Frasier had “been ricocheting ideas off each other for a while on this one, and I suspect the result is something that’ll tickle Hulk fans old and new.”
Frasier described working with Ewing as a consultant as “a wonderful experience,” and said the co-writing experience had been successful so far because “it’s so easy to bounce elements back and forth to develop a good idea into a great one.” She commented “[Ewing’s] knowledge of Hulk minutiae from the last 60 years is truly a thing to behold.”
The Gamma Flight team first appeared in “Immortal Hulk” #8. “Gamma Flight” #1 is scheduled for release in comic shops and on digital platforms on June 23. The full press release is as follows.
