Anson Mount, star of AMC’s Hell on Wheels, will bear the crown of the Inhuman’s king as Black Bolt in Marvel’s Inhumans. The forty-four year old is the second actor, behind Game of Thrones’ Iwan Rheon as Maximus, to be cast for Marvel’s next big television series. The two will play brothers in the ongoing drama of the Inhuman royal family.

Head of Marvel Television and Marvel’s Inhumans Executive Produce Jeph Loeb said, “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. Showrunner Scott Buck followed that up by saying, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”

The Inhumans were created in 1965 by comics legends Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. They spent much of their early years in obscurity until a jettison to fame in recent years with Marvel events such as “Inhumanity” and “Inhumans vs X-Men.”

This will be Mount’s first regular series role since the finale of Hell on Wheels in 2016.

Marvel’s Inhumans is set to debut its first two episodes in IMAX for a two week run in select theaters. The show will then go on to an 8 episode network run on ABC.

Marvel’s Inhumans is executive produced by Scott Buck, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory. Buck will also serve as showrunner while Roel Reine is set to direct the first two episodes.
