To celebrate their 82nd anniversary (August 31, when “Marvel Comics” #1 was published in 1939), Marvel Comics have announced eight upcoming titles:

– ‘Devil’s Reign’ (starting December 2021), a crossover event from the current “Daredevil” creative team of writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto, which will see Mayor Wilson Fisk outlawing all superheroes in New York, and sending the Thunderbolts to attack Daredevil, Elektra, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and more.
– “Avengers Forever” (December 2021) by “Avengers” writer Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuder, which will see archaeologist Tony Stark lead “Avengers from across the multiverse to bring order to timelines where ‘hope’ is a four letter word.” The series is named after Kurt Busiek, Roger Stern and Carlos Pacheco’s 1998-99 maxiseries.
– “Timeless” (December 2021) by writer Jed MacKay, artists Kev Walker, Joe Bennett, Mark Bagley, and more. This comic follows Kang the Conqueror after “a threatening new timeline emerges,” as he “fight[s] his way through the coming year to protect the main 616 timeline he’s worked centuries to solidify as his own.” The series coincides with Kang’s recent debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Loki, which devised a similar backstory for the character.
– “X Lives of Wolverine” and “X Deaths of Wolverine” (January 2022) by “X-Force” writer Benajmin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara, as well as Federico Vicentini, will “test” Logan “before any mutant can survive to the Second Krakoan Age,” with “two interlocked tales about what happens to Wolverine when… His Pasts Meet His Future.”
– “She-Hulk” (January 2022), by author Rainbow Rowell and artist Rogê Antônio, will see Jennifer Walters return to practicing law. It marks a return to her traditional status quo, which had been ruptured since 2016’s ‘Civil War II,’ when she became unable to maintain her usually intelligent alter-ego, and coincides with the upcoming Disney+ series starring Tatiana Maslany.
– “Fantastic Four: Reckoning War” (January 2022), from “Fantastic Four” scribe Dan Slott with artists Carlos Pacheco and Rachael Stott. Described as “an epic saga over 15 years in the making,” the comics sees the “original secret war of the Marvel Universe [being] reignited, and every living being in reality [in] danger, for we are finally at… Our Day Of Reckoning.”
– “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” (February 2022), which Marvel did not disclose the creative team for at the time of writing. The relaunch coincides with the upcoming animated series, coming to Disney Channel next year. Moon Girl (Lunella Lafayette) was created by Brandon Montclare, Amy Reeder, and Natacha Bustos in 2015, while Devil Dinosaur (a red T. rex) was created by Jack Kirby in 1978.
