A few weeks ago, it was revealed that in addition to the high profile relaunch of Moon Knight by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev in May, the following two months would bring two more equally high profile, big ticket relaunches. While many (writers of this site) assumed one of those relaunches was Van Lente/Pak/Eagelsham’s Alpha Flight (announced earlier this week), it appears as if The Punisher and Daredevil will be the ones returning to ongoing status in June and July respectively.
“Fans are going to love what we have in store with Big Shots,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “We’re taking some of the best Marvel characters that we all know and love and sending them in a brand new direction with some Grade A talent. We want to reach a whole new set of readers while at the same time appeal to long time fans of these great heroes and Big Shots is how we’re doing it.”
The creative teams for both Punisher and Daredevil will apparently be revealed at the Cup O’Joe panel at this year’s C2E2 (though it will take a lot to convince me anyone but Rick Remender should write Frank Castle these days), nor has it been determined what Matt Murdock’s somewhat hasty return to New York City will mean for the current guardian of Hell’s Kitchen, the Black Panther.
