Marvel hit the ground running for day two of SDCC providing a look at a multitude of its upcoming projects on the small screen. On top of that, they revealed the 53rd title of Marvel Legacy is indeed “Captain America” beginning with issue #695 and reuniting Mark Waid and Chris Samnee.

Check out our coverage of day two below.

– Premiering actually on day one of SDCC, Marvel and IMAX brought a second trailer for the upcoming Inhumans joint venture. The trailer shows off our first look at Medusa’s hair in action and shows off more of the plot of the first episode with Triton sent to Earth from the moon to find a new Inhuman who has undergone Terrigenesis. Inhumans premieres in IMAX September 1 before transitioning to ABC starting September 29.

– Continuing on the television front, Marvel also brought a new trailer for The Defenders to SDCC, and actually premiered the whole first episode of the Netflix series in Hall H. The trailer provides the first good look at Alexandria, Sigourney Weaver’s villainous character, and Elodie Yung’s Elektra who is being controlled by Weaver’s character. Of course also there is tons of action and witty banter as per this being a Marvel show. The Defenders panel also revealed that Iron Fist is getting a second season and Misty Knight, from Luke Cage would be appearing. You can check out the trailer here and an overview of the panel here. The Defenders drops all eight episodes on Netflix August 18th.

– Marvel and Fox also showcased their upcoming show The Gifted which premieres on Monday October 2 with a new trailer just for the con. Showrunner Matt Nix also revealed on The Gifted panel that the show exists completely separate from the X-Men movie universe, in a different “stream” which exists thanks to the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The trailer offered good looks at the powers of Thunderbird, Polaris, Blink, Eclipse, and the Strucker kids as the whole group along with the Strucker’s parents go on the run. Check out the trailer here, and full panel details here.

– If you thought that was all of Marvel’s television, you’d be mistaken as we also got a first look at the upcoming Disney XD Big Hero 6 cartoon. The cartoon takes place in the aftermath of the 2014 Disney Animation Studios movie and features most of the original cast reprising their roles. The show premieres sometime later this year and will be 21 episodes and has already been greenlit for a second season. You can check out the trailer here.

– In more Legacy news, another creative team was revealed, that of the newly renamed “Spider-Man vs. Deadpool.” Robbie Thompson and Chris Bachalo will take over the title with November’s issue #23 as revealed in the “Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends Panel.” The series will have interlude issues like the main “Deadpool” title that will flash forward to Old Man Wilson and Old Man Parker at a retirement home. Marvel also revealed that some previously cancelled series will get to come back for one last issue with the Legacy formatting on the cover. These include “Shang Chi, Master Of Kung Fu” #126, “Silver Sable” #36, “Not Brand Echh” #14, “Dazzler” #43, “Power Pack” #63, and “Darkhawk” #51. In addition Marvel announced a new “Thanos” graphic novel from veterans Jim Starlin and Alan Davis called “Thanos: The Infinite Siblings” due out in April in time for Avengers: Infinity War.”

– In “Star Wars” comics news, Timothy Zahn’s novel Thrawn about the titular villain is getting a comic book adaption from writer Jody Houser and artists Luke Ross Nolan Woodard with lettering from Clayton Cowles. The adaptation will be a miniseries about the villain who is at the core of the now Star Wars Legends expanded universe. Thrawn most recently appeared in the official Star Wars continuity in Star Wars Rebels.
