In an otherwise text-less press release just sent over from Marvel, we now have the announcement of “Civil War” #1 in Summer 2015, featuring Cap and Iron Man holding back Iron-Spider together. Coming in just the day after NYCC has ended, it’s easy to say with confidence that this is super-confusing so your guess is literally as good as mine with this one.

But, hey, Marvel is doing another “Secret Wars”, so I guess sky is the limit in terms of re-visiting events in some way or another. Given that “Secret Wars” is teased to have something to do with alternate realities, the closest assumption to make here is that perhaps we’ll be seeing what events were like in other realities in a big multiversal jaunt of some kind, starting with another “What If?” iteration of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s notorious event series.

We’ll let you know more as it is revealed.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
