Marvel has apparently run out of words to use for its infamous “one-word” series of teasers, and is now turning from the English language to Doopese.
This teaser (which when translated says… teaser…) shows that Peter Milligan and David Lafuente will debut a new project featuring Marvel’s favorite escameraman/destroyer of the Soviet Union/sexy maid. There’s no word if this’ll be an ongoing, miniseries, or one-shot as the only other information Marvel had to say was “The future of All-New Marvel NOW! is Bizarre!”
Does this teaser guarantee Doop will be in the upcoming book? Yes. Does it guarantee he’ll be the lead of the series? Not necessarily. Could this be a return of X-Statix? Slow down there, Stretch Armstrong!
Whatever this turns out to be, it may mark the first comic book that’s written exclusively in a non-human language. Don’t say Marvel doesn’t take any risks.
Edit: For those unfamiliar, Doop was a cameraman for the X-Statix superhero team/reality show created by Peter Milligan and Michael Allred, may or may not be a failed experiment from the Cold War, and is best friends with Wolverine. You can currently catch him as a faculty member of the Jean Grey school in Wolverine and the X-Men.
