Marvel Teases New Ultimate Spider-Man

While Ultimate Peter Parker may be six feet under, that doesn’t mean that the identity of Spider-Man is going to be abandoned. An unknown character – who may or may not be a brand new character as opposed to a previously revealed figure – will be taking on the mantle. And, as Marvel revealed in a teaser today, his identity will be revealed next week in Ultimate Fallout #4 in artist Sarah Pichelli’s section (written by, assumedly, Brian Bendis).

Marvel’s press release says nothing but, “Watch as history is made,” which seems like perhaps the tiniest of little jabs at DC’s branding of the DCnU (which, really, could be appropriate considering that the Ultimate Universe is having a relaunch of it’s own right now, although no continuity is changing).

So. 7 days until Spider-Man is revealed, and perhaps 6 days until Marvel reveals the news at USA Today. Place your bets now!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
