Marvel Teases Onslaught Unleashed

This morning on Marvel’s blog, they released the cover to Onslaught Unleashed #1. It’s a rather large cover featuring several teams that are recognizable, including most of the Secret Avengers, Hank Pym from Avengers Academy, and the Young Allies. It looks like although their book was canceled, McKeever still has some plans left for them – which of course begs the question that if he’s still going to be writing them into an “event” like this, what happened to their main title?

Either way, the solicit for the book gives us very little additional information, other than Filipe Andrade will be the artist, Rob Liefeld will do variants, and the cover price will be $3.99 (which does fit into Marvel’s price point plan, but doesn’t make the book more attractive).

Now – WHY is Marvel bringing back Onslaught? I have no clue. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. I loved McKeever’s work in Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane though (not so much in Young Allies), so I’m sure you’ll be able to expect a review of this come February 2011.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
