By the hammer of Thor, indeed.
The four-disc blu-ray and single-disc Avengers home releases were announced over the weekend, but along with them comes a huge money-eating fanboy-seducing deal to go along with it: for the low, low price of $219 dollars, you can get the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One: Avengers Assemble blu-ray box-set. That’s every Marvel movie from Iron Man to the Avengers in an exclusive as-yet-to-be-revealed box set, clocking in at 10 discs in total (one of which is an exclusive “Phase One Archives” disc). It’s also assuredly full of other secrets and goodies to add to your piles of things at home your mother would be shocked to hear you’ve spent your hard-earned money on, but hey, don’t listen to her. She doesn’t get it.
It hasn’t been revealed what the box looks like, but from the teaser one would imagine it is the suitcase the tesseract was briefly contained in before everything went to hell in the Avengers, so hey, if you’ve got the money laying around, you can pre-order it now on Amazon.com for only $153.30
(For the record, if you bought the “ultimate” version of each Marvel Studios film up until the Avengers at list price, you’d have spent roughly $189.94 by now. Add to that the price of the “ultimate” version of the Avengers, and you’re at $239.93 for list price worth of each movie. All things considered, if you’ve yet to buy a single film in the Marvel movie franchise, it’s not a bad deal.)
