Remember those cool sounding shows Marvel Studios is doing with Netflix? Well, from an event happening today in New
York, we’re getting some even cooler new information on those show. The image up there is from AgentM’s twitter coverage of the event, by the way.
The information, though, is coming from Marvel‘s own site and it looks like the episode count is settled at a cumulative 60, one-hour-long episodes. Between the four main shows of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist we’re looking at 13 episode seasons with an eight episode miniseries for The Defenders. Looks like Marvel is finally giving a crap about serialising their properties right, huh?
What’s even cooler about this whole thing is that fact the shows, mostly Daredevil and Luke Cage it seems, will be filming on location in New York City. So when Daredevil runs through the rooftops of Hell’s Kitchen, it’s probably going to be the actual Hell’s Kitchen. That shows a level of commitment to these shows that, frankly, even though I am enjoying, I’m not seeing with Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.. If these shows do well enough, we could see them renewed for more seasons as well as more street-level characters getting this treatment. My money’s on the Punisher and Moon Knight.
Be sure to check in with Marvel and AgentM on Twitter for more information.
