Marvel Unveils The Architects

I think it’s safe to say that if you’re a Marvel fan, you’re probably reading New/Secret/Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, or Wolverine. It’s just sort of unavoidable to be not getting at least one of those. Today, Marvel unveiled a new “project” entitled the Architects, which spotlights the writers of all those books: Brian Bendis, Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, and Jason Aaron. All of them are absolutely fantastic writers, and they all exist on a personal list of mine entitled “buy anything with their name(s) on it.”

What is the Architects? It’s unknown at the moment. According to the press release, right now it’s an initiative spotlighting the most important writers and artists at Marvel who are writing the books that will literally change the face of the Marvel Universe. What does that entail? Every writer is listed as writing “top secret upcoming new series/project/event,” and it leads me to believe this could be some kind of epic crossover. Of course, it’s notable that Bendis has his name listed under PROJECT and Fraction has his name listed under EVENT, so Galactus only knows what that could entail! C.B. Cebulski also notes that everything that is to come is currently being seeded in comics currently coming out, so I suppose now would be the time to read a tad closer.

We’ll update with the list of artists when we get them, as well as what else this means as soon as we know.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
