Marvel’s Age of X teasers finally ended this morning with the reveal of the last two characters on the image, “new” characters named Revenant and Reaper. Of course, fan of the book will notice that both of these two characters (top floating left and bottom crouching right, for those who haven’t been following) are rather familiar. Specifically, we’ve known these characters as Rogue and Phoenix (for lack of better identity at the moment).
So, our completed cast is now Gambit, Hellion, Beserker, Nightmare, Basilisk, Frenzy, Magneto, Cannonball, Revenant, and Reaper. So – what is the Age of X? Are we correct in thinking this is some weird alternate future? And why are character’s names changed?
