You may have heard rumblings on the internet that Marvel, in collaboration with Animax and G4, will be airing a bunch of anime inspired cartoons based on their properties. Iron Man and Wolverine start this summer, and Blade to come shortly after. Meanwhile starting in April Marvel will be airing a brand new X-Men anime – and we’ve got a LOT of art from it thanks to Marvel.com!

According to Marvel, the show will follow our team as “The X-Men are reunited following the death of a teammate, and are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army, and the battle for justice is on.” Perhaps even Astonishing X-Men inspired to a degree, it will hopefully follow in the proud tradition of X-Men cartoons Marvel has put out like Wolverine and the X-Men and the 90’s X-Men cartoon, which had it’s own bad-ass intro in Japan.

Check out after the cut for a whole slew of anime art, and get your ^_^ on.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
