We confirmed it for you back in October, ran a preview of it in November and now, in December, the entirety of Matt Fraction and Nate Fox’s gruesome mini-comic “For God and Country” is online at GQ Magazine’s Website, complete with commentary from Fraction.

Originally released inside of their Men of the Year retrospective issue this month, the comic paints an entirely visceral portrait of the May 2nd raid on Osama Bin Laden’s Pakistani fortress leading up to the terrorist leader’s death at the hands of the United States Special Forces. It stands up to the high quality standard we’ve come to expect from Fraction and Fox, however the fact that GQ went in a graphic fiction direction to cover this story and it’s immense impact on the last year of American life is, to my knowledge, unprecidented. Whether or not mainstream journalism will continue to outsource content to the comic book community remains uncertain, but I for one think it’s not the worst idea in the world. More awareness of comics as a legitimate storytelling medium = higher sales = happy industry.

You can find the whole strip, with commentary, right here.
