Last night on Twitter, Matt Kindt announced that he would be taking over writing duties for one of DC’s New 52 titles. Kindt certainly has a relationship with DC already, as he has already written and illustrated a graphic novel for Vertigo, illustrated an arc of Jeff Lemire’s Sweet Tooth, and is currently writing the Robot Man portion of My Greatest Adventure, DC’s anthology series.
While he didn’t mention what book it would be, he does mention that it is a childhood dream come true — which, to be fair, could mean anything.
However, seeing as he is currently writing Robot Man in the New 52, a character from Doom Patrol, could we perhaps be seeing him take on a series of similar style? As in, a book starring a team of misfit heroes who weren’t typically associated with DC before Flashpoint yet now are and whose writer recently left the title? (I am, of course, projecting my secret wishes here.)
Either way, congrats to Matt Kindt on the gig, and we look forward to whatever is announced.
