MC at NYCC ’12: American Vampire Goes On Hiatus

Well here’s a piece of news I’m not too happy to share.

It seems that while he’s busy being DC’s new favorite writer (did you hear about that Superman book?), Scott Snyder is announced during the vertigo panel that “American Vampire” will go on hiatus after #34, which closes out the ‘Black List’ arc.

However, there’s no need to cry just yet. The book will return in late 2013. Apparently the book is being on hold as Rafael Albuquerque works on another book, assumedly one with Snyder in the DC Universe (based on hints Snyder gave at the panel). So there will be no “American Vampire” for a bit, but those of you who love Snyder and Albuquerque’s work should keep your eyes out for an announcement, perhaps for something in February.

On the plus side, he did just announce a new Vertigo title with Sean Murphy, so hopefully that will hold us all over until “American Vampire” returns. With Murphy on art, there’s no doubt in my mind.
