Announced last night at the Marvel Television Presents panel, fanboys everywhere were given a new battle cry: “Coulson lives!”

That’s right: the famous SHIELD agent popularized in the Avengers film-franchise from Marvel Studios, villainously murdered by Loki, will return to the screen in the upcoming SHIELD pilot from Marvel by Kevin Feige and Joss Whedon.

We don’t know how yet, obviously. With Coulson dead, there have been several theories about how he could return, such as via a LMD or even re-built as a robot, possibly the Vision. There are hundreds of fans speculating everywhere about this very subject. The SHIELD show could even just take place before the events of the film. No matter what the case is, though, Clark Gregg will be a part of it as Coulson, and Coulson — in some form or fashion — lives.

Of course, the show isn’t the only place Coulson will be making an appearance. Stay tuned for more news soon.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
