Multiversity Studios Press Release
Multiversity Comics is pleased to announced today the launch of Multiversity Studios, a creative thinktank comprised of several of the writers of Multiversity Comics seeking to make their own marks within the realm of comics. The first endeavor, CONTROL, was released today online as a webcomic, and is the first of a few planned titles from Multiversity and friends to be released over the next year.
“I think it’s safe to say that readers of Multiversity know that we all love comics, and naturally that extends to wanting to be creative,” said Multiversity’s Editor-in-Chief, Matthew Meylikhov. “Now that Kristin and I are ready, I’m beyond ecstatic to release our first comic into the wild for fans and non-fans alike to enjoy. Or not enjoy. You know, whatever works.”
CONTROL is a webcomic written by Multiversity’s own Matthew Meylikhov and new-comer to the brand new Multiversity Studios, Kristin Boucher. The story follows the adventures of Jessica, a young girl living in Boston who begins to understand that there is more to life beyond the veil of what we see. An ode to art of all forms and a love letter to Boston, Control is a story about music, art, magic, love, flying, cats, comics, beer, dating, living, dreaming and bicycles.
“I actually met Matt through Craigslist. Who knew that website was good for something other than laughing at the creepy personal ads?” said Boucher. “Anyway, he seemed crazy, but in a charming non-harmful way. Also, he had an awesome beard. That was probably the selling point for me. Oh. And the comic. He had a lot of good ideas – one of which was Control. So, I took a non-paying gig that was guaranteed to be tons of work and possibly drive me to madness. What could possibly go wrong?”
“Kristin is great,” added Meylikhov. “Although she probably will be driven to madness, because – well, spoilers.”
CONTROL will be updated with a new page Wednesdays and Saturdays at ControlComic.com.
If a song has ever touched your heart in an indescribable way, or a painting spoke to you on a level not of the known plane of existence, then join Jessica along a journey to discover to what extent that art really is magic.
For the first four pages, check after the cut – and be sure to visit the site every Wednesday and Saturday for more!
