Welcome to Mignolaversity, Multiversity Comics’ dedicated column for all things Mike Mignola. The solicitations are small this time, with only a pair of comics coming in August, but with some very intriguing covers from Wes Craig, Christopher Mitten, and Jesse Lonergan that we’re very happy to share. And as always, thanks to Dark Horse Comics for sending the solicitations our way.

Illustrated by Christopher Mitten
Colored by Michelle Madsen
Lettered by Clem Robins

Years after surviving a catastrophe that destroyed her home, Panya has settled into her life as a temple servant, but remains plagued by nightmares. . . or visions. Meanwhile, groups of traveling petitioners come to the temple bearing warnings of a of looming darkness that bears a worrying resemblance to Panya’s own dreams.

Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson are joined by artist Christopher Mitten and colorist Michelle Madsen for the second installment of Panya’s story.

Mark Tweedale: It’s always a pleasure to see a new Chris Mitten cover. In this case though, it’s extra special, knowing that it’ll accompany Chris Mitten interiors too. I’m glad to have him back in the Hellboy Universe.

MISS TRUESDALE AND THE FALL OF HYPERBOREA #4 (of 4)

Variant cover by Wes Craig

Written by Mike Mignola
Illustrated by Jesse Lonergan

On sale August 16, 2023

$3.99
Miniseries

Miss Truesdale’s past, present, and future collide in a battle with a terrifying creature. Will the Victorian-era Miss Truesdale be able to claim her power, or is she doomed to be consumed by her past?

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and artist Jesse Lonergan bring the final installment of a Miss Truesdale’s story and of ancient Hyperborea!

Mark: That’s a stunning variant from Wes Craig! (If you aren’t already, you should check out his series “Kaya.”) The first issue of “Miss Truesdale and the Fall of Hyperborea” comes out next week, so there’s not a lot I can say about this series yet. However, I’m sure you can appreciate Lonergan’s cover here. I mean, those guys certainly look like Makoma, Hercules, and Thor. . .

Obviously, I’m ridiculous excited about this. Anyway, I may not be able to say anything just yet, but Jesse Lonergan can. He was on a pair of podcasts recently talking about the series, Comic Book Couples Counseling and Traversing the Stars. Be sure to check ’em out.

    Mignolaversity: “Giant Robot Hellboy” #3

    By | Jan 3, 2024 | Reviews

Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo’s “Giant Robot Hellboy” wraps up with a bang (or should I say boom?) in this final issue as we finally meet the true titular character. And yet this story leaves a lot of dangling threads. This is clearly the beginning of something much bigger. As usual, this being a review […]
