A damn good month! Not to mention there will be a Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1954 story for Free Comic Book Day and B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth #141 as well (more on that below), so it’ll be a packed month. The Mignolaverse solicitations also included a new hardcover collection for July…

Forty years after disaster left Lower Manhattan submerged in thirty feet of water, the Drowning City has taken a turn for the weird and Joe Golem is there to investigate. A mysterious and terrifying creature has been snatching children and pulling them into the depths of the canals, and the those that drowned in the floods are coming back to the surface—alive.

I’m really looking forward to the sketchbook section on this one. Patric Reynolds has been showing off some amazing stuff on Twitter, so I expect this will be packed. OK, on to the news…

The Amazing Screw-On Head and Other Curious Objects (Artist's Edition cover)

    — IDW will be publishing The Amazing Screw-On Head and Other Curious Objects as an artist’s edition. This is one of my favourite Mike Mignola books, so I’m pretty damn excited to say the least.

    — The next arc of B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth has been delayed, so #140 won’t be coming out next week as originally scheduled. Expect #140 on April 20, #141 on May 18, and #142 on June 15.

    — Christopher Golden spoke to Bleeding Cool about the next arc of Baltimore.

    — For a limited time, Abe Sapien artists Max and Sebastián Fiumara are taking commissions. Details here.

Benito Cereno did an annotation column for Abe Sapien: Witchcraft & Demonology on Comics Alliance. He’s really done his homework. Check it out.

    — James Harren’s been sharing some of his B.P.R.D. designs on Twitter.

    Continued below

    — Patric Reynolds is still diligently posting process images. Man, when that first Joe Golem collection comes out, it’ll have one hell of a sketchbook section if these are anything to go by. Check this one out:

    — Tonci Zonjic has been sharing some teasing glimpses of his Lobster Johnson work. He also showed a rejected cover for The Glass Mantis.

    — Jason Latour has also been in the sharing mood. He posted some raw scans of his work from Sledgehammer 44. I’d love to see him working in this universe again some day.

Julian Totino Tedesco also shared this beautiful Sledgehammer 44 painting.

Paolo Rivera shared his process for the Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1953 #3—Beyond the Fences (Part 1) cover. This comes out the week after next, and it’s a fantastic issue, so don’t miss it.

Max Fiumara shared his cover process for Abe Sapien #31.

    — And finally, Ben Stenbeck shared his process for his Hellboy Winter Special variant cover.
